I was very happy about the invitation from the Art Association for Faaborg to do their annual autumn exhibition. Although I moved from the small town more than 30 years ago, it has always had a very special place in my heart. This is where it all started!
I just came back home to the studio after the opening of the exhibition BOTANISKE BILLEDER. And it was such a great pleasure to set up the exhibition in the beautiful little art gallery Galeriget, which is situated in the street Bøjestræde in Faaborg.
Bøjestræde is one of the city's old idyllic streets and formerly a craftman's street, where the cooper, the plumber, the carpenter and the shoemaker had their homes and workshops. The small street still houses workshops and galleries - including GaleRiget.
If you happen to visit Faaborg I will recommend you to visit Faaborg museum, which is an architectural gem and one of my absolute favorite museums in Denmark.
You can also take a trip to the islands in the UNESCO Geopark South Fyn Archipelago. As a child and teenager, I spent all my summers aboard my family's sailing ship around the small islands. And it is right there that my great joy and love for nature is founded.
Here are som photos from the the exhibition which is open Fridays and Saturdays untill September 28th 2024.
